Tirana Startup Weekend ‘12 - Are you going?
From what I’ve seen and read online, Startup Weekends are 2.5 days events in many cities around the world, where young people can share ideas, build teams, build prototypes and possibly turn it into a business.
It’s a creative way to discover potential and encourage young entrepreneurs to take action, and it’s finally in Albania! :)
To be part of this activity, you don’t need to have a project ready. You can bring an idea and build it there, or you can join the teams if you’re a developer, a designer, marketing enthusiast or just an interested person.

GSM meets CDMA… Only in Vodafone Albania
OK! Having a pretty powerful smarphone capable of doing many of my internet related daily activities means that i’m gonna use it, extensively.
But lately, it’s come to the point where I need to chose berween receiving phone calls or staying connected to the web.
This is because my service provider (Vodafone Albania) does the shittiest possible job in building a stable, reliable and fully working infrastructure. Basically, staying connected blocks incoming calls for smartphones, and now, while writing this post, I just received a text saying that I have missed calls.
A while ago, the problem was a bit different. You had data, but that troubled somehow outgoing calls…
Result?… I now have a device that has an internet connection… But no phone service… a.k.a a tablet?!
Dear Vodafone, if you are reading this, I want you to know that this problem has been solved in other countries… Get your ‘engineers’ off their asses and put them to work! You’re aware that GSM providers are supposed to do voice and data at the same time, right? Otherwise switch to CDMA. You’re basically doing that…
